It\u2019s the difference between promising prototypes and tools that can be implemented.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1425\">That is why it was significant to see the <strong data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1283\">AI4Health.Cro Innovation Challenges<\/strong> presented as a practical success story on the panel <strong data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1387\">\u201cFull Digitalisation of the Healthcare System.\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1530\">What was highlighted: AI4Health.Cro Innovation Challenges as a pipeline from prototypes to practice<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1833\">On the panel, <strong data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1568\">Jelena Cura\u0107 (HZZO)<\/strong> highlighted AI4Health.Cro\u2019s <strong data-start=\"1597\" data-end=\"1638\">three completed innovation challenges<\/strong> as an example of how targeted problems, structured evaluation, and real-world constraints can produce AI tools with clear clinical and organisational value.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1835\" data-end=\"1913\">Across the innovation challenges, AI4Health.Cro has focused on solutions that:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"2104\">\n<li data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"1971\">\n<p data-start=\"1916\" data-end=\"1971\">address specific, high-impact bottlenecks in the system<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1972\" data-end=\"2021\">\n<p data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2021\">can reduce burden for clinicians and care teams<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2022\" data-end=\"2104\">\n<p data-start=\"2024\" data-end=\"2104\">have the potential to improve outcomes over time through better decision support<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2106\" data-end=\"2164\">From use case to tool: examples from recent challenges<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2165\" data-end=\"2256\">AI4Health.Cro\u2019s challenge topics have targeted concrete and measurable problems, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2652\">\n<li data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2455\">\n<p data-start=\"2260\" data-end=\"2455\"><strong data-start=\"2260\" data-end=\"2324\">Predicting early rehospitalisation \/ 30-day readmission risk<\/strong> (Innovation Competition 2024), with results presented through the AI4Health.Cro ecosystem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2652\">\n<p data-start=\"2458\" data-end=\"2652\"><strong data-start=\"2458\" data-end=\"2529\">Breast cancer lesion classification and localisation in mammography<\/strong> (Innovation Competition 2025), designed to advance imaging-based decision support.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2654\" data-end=\"2837\">This approach reflects a deliberate shift: less \u201cAI as a headline,\u201d more <strong data-start=\"2727\" data-end=\"2760\">AI as a deployable capability<\/strong>\u2014built around real data constraints, evaluation, and implementation pathways.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2839\" data-end=\"2887\">What\u2019s next for teams building in healthtech<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3216\" data-end=\"3614\">AI4Health.Cro will continue using this challenge-driven approach to connect real healthcare needs with real technical execution.
