30 October 2023 – In the spirit of fostering digital innovation and cooperation across Europe, Croatian European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) have joined forces with Ukraine to assist in their digital transformation journey. This initiative comes following Ukraine’s signing of the agreement to participate in the EU’s “Digital Europe” program (2021-2027) in September 2022. The agreement has enabled Ukrainian companies and public authorities to co-finance EDIH activities in the coming period.
Aimed at helping Ukrainians to dive into the world of digital transformation and learn more about EDIHs and their role in advancing technology and innovation in Europe, GIZ project organised webinar titled “How to Become a European Digital Innovation Hub”. This free initiative falls under the EU’s “Digital Europe” program, with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation acting as the strategic coordinator in the region.
Croatian EDIHs have actively participated in this project, sharing their expertise and experience during the webinar which featured all four Croatian EDIHs:
- EDIH CROBOHUB++ (CROatian Industry and Society BOosting), presented by coordinator Hrvoje Džapo,
- EDIH AI4HEALTH (Artificial Intelligence for Smart Healthcare and Medicine), introduced by coordinator Anja Barešić,
- EDIH JURK (Digital Transformation of Central Croatia and Northern Adriatic Through JURK EDIH), presented by coordinator Tomislav Plesec,
- And EDIH Adria, showcased by coordinator Damir Medved.
“Participating in this initiative brings a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose to our team. Sharing our experience and knowledge with Ukrainian counterparts underscores the spirit of collaboration and advancement that the Digital Europe program embodies. The AI4Health.Cro project is dedicated to enhancing healthcare through technology, and aiding Ukraine’s digital transformation efforts aligns perfectly with our vision of a digitally inclusive and harmonized Europe.”
This collaborative effort highlights the Croatian commitment to supporting Ukraine’s integration into the broader European digital landscape, sharing valuable insights and resources to ensure the success of Ukrainian candidates in embracing digital advancements
